<p>Randle Engineering provides innovative design &amp; simulation services to a whole variety of sectors and customers within the UK and globally. The operations manager is looking for a proactive, dynamic, and organised team member to cover her maternity leave.</p>
<p><strong>Position Overview:</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking an experienced operations manager to provide maternity cover for 14 months. 13 months maternity leave Inc. annual leave cover, including a handover. Part time: 2.5 days a week / 20 hrs a week.</p>
<p>They will oversee all operational aspects of our organisation as well as the daily operations of our office, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently and simultaneously.</p>
<p>Reporting to CEO | line management of office administrator</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Finance</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with external financial support, bookkeeper, and accountant, to coordinate all financial processes.</li>
<li>Maintain forecasts, reporting to the CEO so they can allocate resources to effectively meet operational requirements within budgetary constraints of the business.</li>
<li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Sage and bookkeeping admin is conducted externally.</li>
<li>Assist with payroll processing and related tasks, such as benefits, pensions, and monitoring changes as they occur.</li>
<li>Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of services. Manage the resolve all questions or discrepancies related to finance.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>IT</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>First line IT support is provided by Link IT. Coordinate relationship with the IT support team and any active IT related calls.</li>
<li>Coordinate the procurement of IT hardware and software, understand the business requirements, budgets, and seamless rollout of kit.</li>
<li>Maintain the internal IT infrastructure with support for our external IT team Link IT.</li>
<li>Knowledge of SharePoint, planning and project management of server to SharePoint migration rollout, advantageous but not essential.</li>
<li>Timesheet administrative management.</li>
<li>Collaborate with colleagues, internal and external on any IT escalations and issues.</li>
<li>IT new starter and induction set ups.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Office administration and processes</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain office efficiency by monitoring and managing administrative systems, procedures, and policies. Implement operational strategies to optimise productivity, streamline processes, and achieve organisational goals where appropriate.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Manage and maintain H&amp;S alongside the office administrator.</li>
<li>Respond to operational issues and emergencies promptly, implementing corrective actions and contingency plans, as necessary.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>HR</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Assist with HR related tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, appraisal admin as required, and employee record management.</li>
<li>Work alongside the engineering manager to ensure internal HR in managed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with department heads and senior management to support organisational goals and initiatives. Prepare reports, presentations, and documents as required by management.</li>
<li>Coordination and administration of all benefits – pensions, cycle scheme, car scheme, private health, DIS and IPP.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:</strong></p>
<p>Proven experience in operations management. Mid to senior level experience essential.</p>
<ul>
<li>Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to independently prioritise tasks effectively.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities.</li>
<li>Higher level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required – Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook / Teams / SharePoint.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.</li>
<li>Strong numerical aptitude and diligence, with the ability to accurately analyse and interpret financial data.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial and HR information with discretion.</li>
</ul>

<p>As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, contributing your skills and enthusiasm to our innovative projects. <p>The successful applicant(s) will receive internal training as required and mentoring from the experienced engineering team with the goal of developing them into a highly competent multi-disciplined engineer(s) in areas such as concept design, detailed design, FEA, multi-body analysis, math modelling, project management, time &amp; budget management and customer facing liaison.</p>
<p>A key aspect of the role is demonstrating a ‘first principles’ approach to problem solving and rigour in everything you do, meaning each design or model begins in its simplest possible form, to ensure a thorough understanding develops along with the work.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Chassis and Suspension Design</strong>: Collaborate on the design and development of cutting-edge chassis and suspension systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.</p>
<p><strong>Vehicle Dynamics Analysis</strong>: Conduct thorough analyses of vehicle dynamics, utilising software tools to optimse handling, ride comfort, and overall performance.</p>
<p>Client Interaction: Engage with renowned global brands, understanding their requirements and providing technical support to deliver tailor-made solutions.</p>
<p><strong>Continuous Learning</strong>: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in chassis and suspension engineering, contributing to the continuous improvement of self and our consultancy.</p>
<p><strong>Main function of the role</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Activities include &#8211; First principles design, CAD design, FE Analysis, Detailed design, Multi body modelling, Simulation/Math modelling</li>
<li>Developing and understanding other areas that impact on designs to sufficient level to control suppliers and understand issues (e.g. hydraulics, electronics etc.)</li>
<li>Maintaining documentation and records to exceptionally high standards</li>
<li>Drawings &amp; release &amp; issue control</li>
<li>High quality report writing and presentation preparation and delivery to clients</li>
<li>Customer liaison (from introduction, through quote preparation to project management and continuing relationship beyond project completion)</li>
<li>Liaising with customers &amp; suppliers and maintaining business relationships</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#8217;s or Master&#8217;s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering</li>
<li>Strong understanding of chassis and suspension principles – advantageous</li>
<li>Exposure to and understanding of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., Adams, Simulink) – advantageous</li>
<li>Understanding of first principles calculations to preface, back up &amp; reinforce simulation results (e.g. hand calculations, Excel, Matlab) – advantageous</li>
<li>Understanding of Multi-body analysis (such as MSC ADAMS, Pro Mechanica, SolidWorks Simulation) – advantageous</li>
<li>Understanding of FEA (such as SolidWorks Simulation, Pro Mechanica or others)</li>
<li>Structural, Modal, Kinematic, Compliant analysis capabilities</li>
<li>Engineering design – concepts, prototypes &amp; production ready designs</li>

<p>The successful applicant for this role with a be an experienced Mechanical Engineer capable of applying a range of skills to solve challenging problems with a desire to work from first principles and with a strong attention to detail. Whilst this role is biased towards systems &amp; component design the successful candidate will need to be a well-rounded engineer capable of turning their hand to other elements of our engineering offering when required (e.g. simulation/modelling).</p>
